    Jamnagar-Kalavad highway closed due to heavy rains


    Jamnagar district has received heavy rains. Due to heavy rains in the rural areas of Jamnagar taluka, many areas have turned into bats and all the dams in Jamnagar taluka have overflowed. In Jamnagar district, more than 7 inches of rain fell in 24 hours in Kalawad, followed by 3.25 inches in Jamnagar, 2.25 inches in Jamjodhpur and 2 inches in Jodia. 

    The Jamnagar-Kalavad highway has also been closed due to heavy rains. The water from Vokra and the river-ditch has flowed back to the highway, causing the Jamnagar-Kalavad highway to be closed due to the return of water on the causeway near Vijarkhi. 

    The Ranjit Sagar Dam, the lifeline of Jamnagar city, overflowed in a single day. So that the people of Jamnagar are happy that the drinking water crisis has been averted.
